Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Kelly was born in New York City. Her family moved to England and early school years were spent overseas. The family returned to Pennsylvania and Elizabeth completed her undergraduate studies, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Delaware Valley College of Agriculture and Science in Doylestown, PA. She was then accepted for postgraduate studies at the Royal Veterinary School at the University of Scotland in Edinburgh, Scotland where she studied veterinary medicine. She transferred to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, West Indies, graduating with a D.V.M. degree in 1996. Following a year of clinical work at the University of Missouri at Columbia, she began practicing emergency veterinary medicine in Pennsylvania and, later, in California. Emergency medicine gave her the opportunity to treat a wide variety of illnesses and surgeries. With this background, she entered into an agreement to work with Dr. Uchimura for a several years prior to her purchase of the Jamacha Veterinary Clinic in August, 2004.
Dr. Kelly is a member of the San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association and the California Veterinary Medical Association. In her spare time Dr. Kelly volunteers her services at rescue organizations in Mexico, the Zuni and Taos Indian Reservations in New Mexico and here in San Diego County. She is an active member of the Jamul Dulzura Community Planing Group. She has been recognized by the Optimist Club with an award for her ongoing community service.
Jamacha Veterinary Clinic is founded in the love and care of animals and all roads have led to our Jamacha Clinic in El Cajon where the well being of all animals is paramount. Dr. Kelly has surrounded herself with a team of professionals who think as she does – that we are all
here to serve our clients and their pets with all the advances of modern day medicine and all the healing properties of old fashioned love.

Jamacha Veterinary Clinic Dr. Richard Uchimara D.V.M.Richard Uchimura, D.V.M. :

Dr. Uchimura technically retired from Jamacha Veterinary Clinic in 2004.  However, he will happily lend a hand on busy surgery days....as long as it doesn't interfere with his golf game!  Dr. U volunteers monthly for the Feral Cat Coalition.  This is an organization that spays and neuters wild-domestic cats.  Dr U and his wife Carol spent many years building this wonderful practice.  Hardly a day goes by without a client asking how they are and saying how much they miss them!
